PARTS 1 & 2 – Following an Old Rail Line Toronto-Fassifern. Bridges, Wetlands, Petrified Forest & SwimClub

Part 1 starts out looking at the old Toronto, NSW, Australia Rail station. We are lucky enough to get some local lads who wanted to be in the video. I then follow the track all the way to Fassifern station. Along the way, there are a lot of discoveries, as I had never been there. I also did not know if the old rail tracks went all the way to Fassifern or if they had been destroyed. After Toronto Rail station we walk along and see Lake Mac and the Toronto Royal Motor Yacht Club. We then go to the Toronto Wetlands and also have a look at the old rail bridge over Stoney Creek. We see the memorabilia sign for the Stony (Stoney) Creek Swimming Club but this is expanded upon in Part 2. We then go on to discover the Kurra Kurrin Petrified Forest and the Blackalls Park Station. We also find all bridges that the trains would have crossed going from Toronto to Fassifern. Whilst the video is on fast forward for much of the walk it is split up into a 2 part video. This is primarily due to all the other things we looked at along the way. Video 2 starts out with a short video of a train running on the Toronto-Fassifern line. The links for that video are included in the part2 description.

YouTube Video Part 2

Video 2 This video starts about 5 minutes away from Fassifern station. We follow the old Toronto-Fassifern rail line to Fassifern and finish off at the old Platform. I have taken photos of the current station as well. On my way out I realize I have gone the wrong way, but it worked out well because we got to see under the last bridge before Fassifern station. I did not find the old tunnel the gentleman was referring to but did find an old signalman’s box, though people were in there so I did not go inside. This video finishes off with a Sign (which I read out). This sign commemorates the re-construction of Stony (Stoney) Creek Swimming Club bank and the old Stoney Creek Swim Club which ran their races and trained from the Creek and a Jetty there. (See Link below for the original sign) I hope you enjoyed this video
